I slept a full twelve hours that I could tell my body desperately needed. I knew this because I definitely could have slept a few more hours. Twelve would have to do for now.
I didn’t have class until 1:30, so I really took my time getting ready this morning. It felt really nice to have my usual breakfast of Frosted Flakes, coffee and a brioche again. I was getting back into my routine again.
After eating, I watched an episode of the Sopranos then packed up my school bag. I also made a ham and brie sandwich to take with me for lunch. I somehow was already hungry, so I ate half and saved the rest for the break between my two physics classes.
I left the house and headed to University. I definitely have been feeling more inspired in Physics these days. Not having vacation looming on your mind does wonders for your attention span. It also didn’t hurt that we had a test on special relativity this Friday.
The the other two thirds of our BU group was taking a biology class instead of physics. Up until this point, they had Tuesdays off and loved to rub it in our faces since we had three hours of Physics. We were the ones laughing now, because the Bio kids have eight hour labs for the next five Tuesdays. Just another reason why mechanical engineering is better than biomedical.
I didn’t really take any photos today, but here is an under the desk selfie in Physics featuring used gum.

After physics, I took the tram and headed home. Despite my desire to lie in bed until dinner, I headed to the gym. I needed to get back in the grind and it felt pretty good once I actually got there. Today I did biceps and shoulders, finishing with the usual ab workout. I also started working push-ups into my ab routine, since my ability with them is severely lacking.
I showered when I get back to the house. After a week of gross hostel showers, I really didn’t mind sitting down in the bathtub to shower anymore. I took time put away all my clean clothes afterwards too.
Before I knew it, the dinner bell was ringing. I was really looking forward to a home-cooked meal and tonight did not disappoint. As an appetizer, we had some baked bread and cheese dish. It was very flaky like a pastry and pretty good. For the main meal, we had grilled chicken with onions and peppers with a side of baked mashed potatoes. I usually am not a huge fan of peppers and onions, but they tasted good tonight. Dinner was followed by the usual bread and cheese and small dessert.
I usually head straight up to my room after dessert, but I stuck around a bit longer tonight. I was getting some good practice in with my French and wanted even more. Since we were no longer eating, Jessica, Anne-Marie and I were talking more. I really tried hard to speak a lot of French, even if I thought I was saying something wrong. This ended up being good practice and I will probably be doing this more frequently.
After dinner, I spontaneously decided to go to the beer pong tournament at Bukana pub. I was the only BU person going, but Sebastien was my partner and I knew a bunch of the Americans there from previous nights out.
Not to have any excuses, but doing an arm workout a few hours earlier definitely impacted my performance. That being said, Sebastien and I were still so close to winning. We had the advantage of playing many inexperienced teams tonight. None of our usual rivals, the Canadians, were there tonight. We were about to win our last game before finals and it we each had one cup left.
I must not fully understand physics yet because our shot went into the last cup and somehow came out. My knowledge of quantum mechanics and relativity could not explain this one. Sebastien and I were so annoyed that we immediately grabbed our stuff and left. It definitely didn’t hurt that we both were very tired.
I took the tram home and went to bed dreaming of beer pong championships.
