Today was another of my early days. In order to get to my flight on time, I got up a little before 5 AM. I said goodbye to my friends the night before, but I had to wake up Jared since I couldn’t find the apartment keys. I found the key and was able to let myself out, than headed to the airport.
Getting there meant a twenty minute walk to the train station, then taking the train to the airport.
Here’s a picture from my walk in the dark this morning.
I had some trouble finding the train initially, but with the help of google I figured it out. During my twenty minute train ride, I ate a package of cocoa puffs.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

I finally got to the airport and went through security without much trouble. I was still feeling a bit hungry, so I went to a cafe to get a yogurt. I was so tired that I didn’t bother with coffee since I could just sleep during the flight.
While waiting to board, I took out my laptop to start writing my blog posts. I was a few days behind and really needed to catch up. I think the three blog posts I wrote today may be a new record for me. Before I knew it, it was time to board the plane.
I fly budget airline so often that I am very used to boarding outside.

As soon as I sat down, I popped on my eye mask and immediately fell asleep. It was that kind of crappy sleep you can only get on airplanes, but I’ll take it.
An hour and a half later I was in Lyon and was feeling incredibly exhausted. This weekend had really burned me out. I don’t think I slept more than five hours on any night. I had to wait a while for my bus, so I got a croissant and coffee from an airport cafe. I went to sit down in the comfy chairs in the cafe, but some worker proceeded to tell me that I couldn’t sit here unless I got an alcoholic drink from the cafe.
It only took five minutes of being France to have someone be an asshole to me. It feels good to be back.
I took my coffee and croissant outside of the cafe and sat for a bit. I eventually boarded the bus and used the hour commute to write another blog post. Before I knew it, the alps came into view and we were back in Grenoble. The awe of seeing the alps in Grenoble seems to never go away.
My view from the bus window.

As much as I wanted to go straight home, I stopped at a Monoprix to pick up stuff for lunch and dinner. Stores are rarely open on Sundays in France, so I knew I wouldn’t be able to find food later.
I didn’t feel like putting any effort in for this meal, so I grabbed three variations of cup noodles. I checked out and hopped back on the tram to go home.
I was pretty hungry when I got home, so I made some food after unpacking. And by made food, I mean heated up water with the electric heater and poured it into a Styrofoam cup of cheap noodles and questionable vegetables.
Two of my ramen packages
You really can’t go wrong with ramen and it definitely filled me up. After eating, I was so tired that I almost instantly passed out in bed.
I napped for about three hours and I could tell my body really needed it. I wanted to sleep longer, but I really needed to shower and study for my differential equations exam tomorrow.
After finally feeling clean again, I spent the next three hours studying. At some point in between that, I took a small break to have some more ramen. It was not bad, but I really don’t want to get in the habit of eating ramen for every meal. I found some easy dishes to cook in the microwave online and want to try them out this week. Stay updated with this blog to find out more about this quest.
Ramen pt. 2

Once I finished studying, I typed up this blog and immediately got ready for bed. It felt pretty damn good to back in my own bed.
