Wakanda-Day 71-March 21st, 2018

Today was another glorious morning, all thanks to my first class being at 1:30. I didn’t bother setting an alarm, something that has become much more common for me these days. I had finished all my work for class yesterday, so I really didn’t have any work to get done this morning.

I took my time eating breakfast. Jessica happened to be there this morning and we talked for a bit about travel. After breakfast, I treated myself to a Sopranos episode. I don’t know if treat is actually the best word, the hardest thing I did this morning was eating my cornflakes.

After the episode, I took some time to make and eat lunch. I had eaten breakfast only two hours before, but I would be starving later since I didn’t have time for another lunch. I’m not going to lie, today was my fifth and best attempt at mac and cheese thus far.

I don’t really have the resources to make good cheese sauce, so I figured the best approach is just pasta seasoned with a bunch of cheese, milk, and butter. Plus you can’t forget a healthy dose of salt and pepper. Today’s mac and cheese was truly delicious. I am very excited for the summer and fall when I can reach my full cooking potential with access to a real kitchen.

My mac and cheese today.

Right after I ate lunch and cleaned up, it was time to head to French class. In class today, we finally learned the alphabet and now I can actually spell things. I should have learned this the first week, but at least I know it now. This helpful for when I can’t pronounce a word correctly, but now I can spell it instead.

We had our first AC circuits tutorial after French class. This was with a new professor who was decent. He did a good job of explaining the answers to practice problems in an easy to understand way. I left class feeling pretty good about the material, even though we applied a lot of differential equations to it.

I headed home after class today and elected to skip the gym. The past two days were pretty tiring, plus I wanted to go see Black Panther again with my friends. On the way home from campus, I stopped to buy some groceries, as well as razors and deodorant.

It is insane how cheap razor are in France. Granted they are disposable ones, but they’re still pretty nice and usually have at least three blades. You can buy ten of these razors for around 5 euros. In the US, you are lucky to get one decent razor for $10.

I bought supplies to make two sandwiches. I did get sick of them a few weeks ago, but I was craving them again. I just can’t eat them for every meal like I did earlier. When I got home, I was starving and made my sandwich.

I still get excited about how big these sandwiches are

I ate half for dinner and it was extremely filling. I honestly could just eat a quarter of this for a meal. After I cleaned everything up, it was almost time to head to the movie. I hung out in my room then took the bus to the movies to meet my friends.

Black Panther was just as good the second time. I got to pick up on a bunch of little details I missed the first time and surprisingly found myself rooting for the villain a bit. I guess when you know the ending already, it’s easy to want the villain to win.

It was nice to have some people to discuss the film with before I headed home. I was super tired when I got home, but decided to stay up and write this blog post anyway. It can be a real pain to write them the next day.

Once I wrote and proofread my blog, I headed to bed.
