That’s Freaking Nice!-Day 76-March 26th, 2018

After a relaxing weekend, I was back into the swing of things. My first class of the day was differential equations at 9:45. I got up around 8 AM this morning, and took my time eating breakfast and getting ready. A little after 9:00, I headed out for the day.

Differential equations was pretty straight forward today and mainly review of concepts from my linear algebra class freshman year. I had forgotten a lot of the concepts so it was nice to have some review.

After math, we had had forty minutes until our circuits lecture. I just hung out in an empty classroom with some of my friends until then. AC circuits was only an hour long today and went by fairly quickly. I am feeling pretty confident with the material. Once class was finished, I headed to the BU office to pick up my food stipend for the week. After grabbing our money, Nick, Harry and I headed to La Natation for lunch in typical Monday fashion.

Since circuits was later in the day now, so was our lunch and we got to the restaurant around 1:45. La Natation only serves lunch, and I could tell the workers were a little annoyed because we came right before they were about to close up shop. Either way, I got the plat du jour and it was really good. I may have to move my Monday tradition to another day of the week though.

My Lunch

We still had a lot of time before class, so we went to the office to hang out. I played the guitar there for a while before class. Soon it was time for physics, so I headed to campus with my classmates. Physics was not too bad today and everything we learned made sense. I like nuclear physics a lot better than special relativity. I usually am terrible at the practice problems, but I did well on them today.

On the way home from class, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up food for the weak. Yet again, I was inspired to try some new meals this week. I got a loaf of sliced bread and supplies to make banana and nutella sandwiches for lunch this week. Additionally, I got two packets of microwavable rice, dried sausages, and a pre-made salad. I want to make rice and sliced up sausages for dinner this week.

My new haul for today

I relaxed in my room for a bit while waiting for my phone to charge, then headed to the gym. Today was leg day. I have not been super consistent with squatting in France, so I have really been focusing on it as of lately. I had a pretty good session and finally have the confidence to ask people in French if they’re using a piece of equipment. Still, my gym vocabulary could improve.

I headed home, excited to test out my new dinners. I was so hungry that I wanted to eat before showering. Luckily thanks to Uncle Ben’s patented 90 second rice formula (not my real Uncle Ben), I was able to make dinner quickly. I poured the rice in a bowl, then sliced my sausage to mix in. It was easy and delicious.

My Dinner

It also made my room smell just like red beans and rice, a quintessential cajun food and smell of Mardi Gras. I cleaned up my dinner then hopped in the shower.

The rest of my night was pretty relaxed. I worked on a lab report for physics and typed up this blog post.

Here is a really funny message my French lab partner Greg sent me

I guess my superior grasp of English makes me seem like a much more talented writer than I actually am to the French students.

I only have lab at 1:30 tomorrow, so I am looking forward to sleeping in.
