Weird Trees-Day 113-May 3rd, 2018

Today was another day without classes, and bound to be a relaxing one. This automatically meant I would sleep in later. I got up around 10:30 and headed downstairs for breakfast.

After breakfast, I hung out for a bit in my room. I had finished The Shining the night before, and now needed some new tasks to occupy my time. Now that I had all the dates for my final exams, I spent some time on the computer finding flights to London during finals period.

I have two exams on the 14th, one on the 23rd, and on the 24th. There is a huge gap of time between the first and second set of exams, so I will be in London from the 16th-20th. I am staying at my friend Sam’s house, who was featured in my NYC blog. My brother will be there as well. Before returning to the US from Shanghai, he is stopping in London for a week. Safe to say I am excited for the trip.

After booking everything, I took a walk over to the BU office. I was expecting an amazon package with a replacement part for my wireless headphones. On the way to the office, I saw something that I had never noticed on my walk before. The street I always walk down was line with these giant, rectangular trees. I must have never fully looked up at them until today. I can’t imagine how they trim these.

When I arrived at the office, I was disappointed to learn that my package had not come. In fact, I checked Amazon and learned it would not come until May 16th since it shipped from the US. So much for Prime two day shipping.

On the bright side, I was able to pick up my graded French exam. I did well on it and learned that I ended the class when A. I guess it doesn’t hurt when you only can speak French at home. I hope good grades will follow for my other classes. Jonathan and some of my classmates were at the office, so I hung out there for a bit.

When I got home I was starving. I made myself my usual lunch of pb&j, an apple, and chips, which was filling as always. After eating and cleaning up, I binge watched a ton of youtube videos for about two hours.

Once I finished with my binge, I changed and headed to the gym. I decided to do biceps and shoulders, but the bench press was calling my name and I did chest day instead. I got in a really nice core workout as well afterwards.

I showered after getting back and relaxed for a bit before dinner. Dinner was fairly normal and I got in a good amount of practice in for my French. The first course were halved tomatoes filled with some fish paste and topped with hard boiled eggs. Not my favorite, but they were okay. The main course was grilled chicken and pasta, which I enjoyed a lot. We finished with bread and cheese, then dessert as normally.

I resumed my youtube binge briefly after dinner, then headed out to meet Nick, Harry, and Jonathan for drinks at La Natation. In usual customs, I met Nick outside his apartment. We got a nice table outside and all ordered this Belgian beer Nick had recommended to us. It was called Delirium Tremens and was very good. This was surprising since it had a pretty high alcohol percentage for a beer.

After hanging out there for a while, we decided to buy cigars and go for a walk through parc Paul Mistral. We just goofed around for a while and had a fun time. We did a bunch of freestyle rapping and I was proud of my friends for improving so much.

It soon got late and I walked home. This was one of the few times I have been close to my house on a night out. I was exhausted when I got back and went straight to bed.
