Despite setting an alarm for 10, I got up at 9 AM to make sure I studied enough for my circuits exam. After a quick breakfast, I got to studying right away. The plan was to study for about another hour, then head to the BU office before my exam and get lunch.
After my hour of studying, I was feeling confident with the third and fourth labs. I packed my bag and headed to the BU office. I wanted to go to the gym later, so it made more sense to pick up my money now. Some of my classmates were at the office, so I decided to hang out there until the exam. I made a quick trip to Batman Kebab to grab a taco. It was good, but I think I officially have eaten too many tacos.
I did some last review with my friends and we were all feeling pretty prepared. We hopped on the tram and headed to campus. I headed to my assigned room and began the exam.
I am not going to sugar coat it, this exam was super hard. The first half was theoretical and the second was experimental. There are definitely sections I got right, but there were a lot that I definitely didn’t get right. This first part of the exam was going so well, but then the algebra got really hard and I had difficulty applying the later steps. I was able to set up my circuit successfully at least and make an okay graph with my data.
Despite feeling terrible about the exam, I felt a lot better afterwards when I learned that everyone felt the same way as me, if not worse. Bonding over getting wrecked by an exam with your classmates can be a weirdly nice experience sometimes. Now we can only pray for a good curve.
After my exam, I headed to pick up my Amazon package I ordered two weeks ago. I got a email saying the delivery failed and it was being held at a convenience store. This is apparently a common practice. The store was right next to Mounier, which is the closest tram stop to my house. I stopped by the store and grabbed my package. The package is replacement earpads for my headphones if you’re curious.
With my Bluetooth headphones now in working condition again, I headed to the gym. Today was a great, but very tough gym day. I did biceps and shoulders, followed by a core and pushup circuit. When I left the gym, I discovered it was raining. In an effort to stay dry and do some cardio, I ran the half mile to my house.
Doing this made me realize that I am very out of shape. I lift a lot, but I do pretty much no cardio. I definitely need to start running once I get back to the United States. Feeling sweatier than normal, I took a shower as soon as I got home.
Soon after my shower, the dinner bell rang. Tonight was my first dinner without Jessica and a great opportunity to practice my French. I was all on my own here. The appetizer was a nice salad with hard boiled eggs and rice with tomatoes and cheese. The main course was slow cooked pork and potatoes with mushrooms. I had some good conversations in French with Anne Marie and Andre during dinner. It’s refreshing to know that I can hold my ground without Jessica here.
After dinner, I spent a lot of time relaxing, then wrote this blog post. Once I finished writing, I watched some Netflix and went to bed afterwards.
