Today is my last day of studying for a while, or at least until next fall. Luckily for me, I don’t have to study a ton for this exam as I usually would. This is because I mistakenly did about five hours of studying for this exam last week when I mixed up the dates of my two physics exam. I figured if I could study for about three hours and that should be enough to prepare for the exam.
I got up around ten this morning with no rush to get the day started. After eating my breakfast, I got started on my attempt to turn this into a productive day. Earlier this week, I made a checklist on my phone of things I need to get done before I leave Grenoble. Today I wanted to get some of them done. This mainly included buying food for the rest of week plus some gifts to bring home for my family.
Despite my weather app saying it would be cloudy, there was a light drizzle outside. I sent my rain jacket home with Andrew, so I ended up borrowing a “parapluie” (an umbrella) from Anne Marie. This is a fun word in French and part of me wishes I learned it earlier.
I headed out to the grocery stores and some other store that I will intentionally leave blank. I don’t want to spoil any of my gifts by revealing the store. I have a host dinner Friday and a BU dinner with everyone Thursday. This meant I only needed to make four meals before I leave, which I tried to keep relatively cheap as well. Any left over cash I have can be converted at the airport, almost like a parting gift from BU. It’s ironic because my stipend money is really just a small part of my own tuition money being given back to me.

After I got back, I was ready to do some studying. I intended to do two study sessions today, so I set an hour and a half timer for this first one. I spent all of this time making sure I mastered the final exam from last year for this course. This is only the second year of the class and I’m hoping the final will be similar to the one from last year. We’re allowed to have a “cheat sheet” as well, so I made sure mine as filled out well. The front is for the nuclear physics portion of the exam, the back for special relativity.
I had no problem motivation-wise while studying and time flew by. Once I was finished, I made myself a brie and ham sandwich with some of the supplies I bought today at the super market. I bought the largest baguette I could find with plans to split my mega-sandwich into three different meals.
After lunch, I watched some Netflix. I am currently binge-watching the second season of 13 Reasons Why. I watched two episodes and decided to head to the gym before I got too deep in my Netlflix binge.
Despite it raining earlier, the day had turned around and it was super beautiful out now. This made my walk to the gym slightly more enjoyable. Today it was chest day and the gym was packed. Nick was there too by chance, which was a nice surprise. I got a nice workout and left the gym in a good mood. I’m skipping the gym tomorrow, so Friday will be my last Moana trip.
I showered when I got home and put away my laundry afterwards. I had only eaten a few hours ago, but working out always makes me super hungry. I ate the second portion of my sandwich for dinner. It might seem depressing eating a sandwich for two meals in a row, but this sandwich is actually delicious. I was legitimately fantasizing about this sandwich the whole time I was at the gym
Once I finished eating and cleaned up, it was time to get back into studying. I wanted to do some general review for relativity and review the midterm. I did exactly this and was feeling pretty prepared after about an hour and a half. I might do some last minute studying tomorrow, but we will see.
By the time I finished studying, it was already past 9:00. I spent the next hour typing up this blog post. I watched a few Netflix episodes afterwards, then went to bed.
Come home, Willie B!!! Love u xo
